Region 2 National Forests and Water

R2Forests&Water

We were discussing something earlier on this blog, and it seemed that this information might be relevant.
It is now out of date, as it was based on 2000 Census Data, but you can get the general perspective.

  1. I would thnk Colrado shoutd be called the rain barrel of the West, and this major source of western water certainly needs to have superb stewarship to protect this irreplaceable water source.

The Northwest has a reputation for being a sponge constantly dripping water, but that is not true. Even here is Oregon the concerns for more water are growing, especially west of the Cascades. Maybe the national forests should have a name change to national watersheds.
