Guess the Year: Planning Combo Across Regions Analysis

I was out yesterday and couldn’t think of anything April Fool-ish, maybe you can?

So I thought I’d substitute a “guess the year” post.  Apologies for the formatting, it was saved as an Excel spreadsheet and I am not very good at conversion.  Apparently the concept at the tiem was to  combine Regions 1, 2 3 and 4 planning shops (which do a bunch of things, only one of which is planning). Note that the idea of a national planning team was implemented (at least to some degree) during the last Admin.

  1. After asking ChatGPT “in what previous year would a GS-13, step 1 have made a salary of $96,300?” I’ll guess FY 2020.

  2. I’m guessing since these are Workplan costs, these are costs to the government – not salary. So I’d guess 2008! I don’t remember any of this effort but I was “Rangering” back then…..

  3. Jim wins.. it was 2006, part of the Transformation effort. Sadly, despite my requests to all kinds of folks, all I have been able to find out about it has been in my own records and the memories of people who don’t want to write posts.

Jim brought up a key concept that what is in Workplan was cost to government.
